The Wine Shop is a Cooperative Society that brings together more than thirty wine companies located in the municipality of Cormons.
The project shared by the wineries and associated families is only one, from 1985 to today: to create a place where you can discover the Friuli territory through its wines, helping to make known every day what this land has to offer.
Colle Duga
Località Zegla, 10, 34071 Cormons GO, Italia
A hill dedicated to quality viticulture: Duga, in the heart of Zegla – a location nestled in a remote corner of Collio near Cormons and close to the Slovenian border. Ten hectares of vineyards, with rows that naturally follow the slopes of the hill composed of “Ponca”, a combination of marl and sandstone layers.
The respect and enhancement of the wines’ characteristics begins with choices in the vineyard – then at the winery, the passion of an entire family… to ultimately find in the bottle all the elegance and minerality of the territory.
The winery is located in Località Pradis, in Cormòns, on the beautiful and gentle hills of Collio, a land of unique wines and hospitable people.
Roberto and Alessia cultivate the vines with intense passion and skillfully craft wine from them with expert care, in harmony with nature, respecting experiences and traditions acquired over time. The objective: to enhance our land, the Collio.
The winery is located in Zegla, just a few meters from the Slovenian border. For approximately 300 years, the Keber family has inhabited this land, which over the centuries has witnessed the succession of different flags: Austria, Slovenia, Italy… today Kristian and Veronika, children of Edi and Silvana, manage the vineyards and winery, carrying forward the family heritage with care and passion.
Tradition and Territory – from these two cardinal points takes shape the Collio Bianco, the oldest wine of our territory and the only one produced by the winery. Collio has always been composed of native varieties: Tocai Friulano, Malvasia Istriana, Ribolla Gialla – child of the ponca on which it grows, heir to a story to be told sip after sip.
Passion and technique have been passed down from generation to generation, reaching Franco, a modern-day viticulturist but an old-time winemaker: he is the one who has been able to transform the company, taking it by the hand and leading it to its current reputation. The winery, located in Novali, is completely surrounded by vineyards, almost embraced in a benevolent hug. The winery and vineyards form a single entity that extends for about ten hectares: thanks to the extreme care of the plants and fruits, and the expertise and precision in the cellar, great wines are born here that tell the story of the territory with elegance and unforgettable character.
Isidoro Princic, known to everyone as Doro, began bottling in 1952 among the gentle hills of Pradis. Sandro, his son, has taken up the mantle and is now one of the leading figures in Collio with his immense wines, the result of great work in the vineyard.
For some years now, Carlo, Sandro’s son, has also joined the company to lend a hand. He manages his grandfather Doro’s vineyard, from which six white wines, always vinified in steel, and two red wines are produced.
Paolo and Veronica’s winery is located among the gentle hills of Pradis. This land was born blessed: it descended steeply from the white peaks of the Julian Alps, becoming populated with hills and woods until it became plains and met the sea. Today this mixture of marls and fragmented sandstones, which time has enriched with salts by mixing and seasoning it with the passage of seasons, is still the ancient one: the finest cradle there is for wine grapes.
The company was founded in 1923: since then, the Blazic family, now composed of Franco, Cinzia and their children Michele and Monica, has emphasized the enhancement and respect of winemaking tradition, preserving the native grape varieties and ancient clones that characterize the territory.
The agronomic management of the company, which follows organic methods, is based on a modern vision while maintaining a strong connection to past heritage: innovation and progress blend harmoniously with the wisdom of traditional methods.
Viale Roma angolo, Via Colombar, 34071 Cormons GO, Italia
In the beginning was grandfather Amedeo: born in 1892 in Nimis, where the finest Verduzzo is produced. In 1927 he left to seek his fortune in Australia: he worked hard and saved enough to return to his homeland, where in 1930 he planted the first Tocai vines at the foot of Mount Quarin.
When the Collio Wine Protection Consortium was established in 1964, the Manzocco Family was already among the major players in the territory, with over one hundred hectoliters of D.O.C. wine. The first bottlings began, bringing great satisfaction, and the Family grew; today the winery is a splendid tourist reception point nestled in the city center, under the guidance and care of Dario who, just like the generations before him, loves the land and the traditions that make it unique.
A story made of people: in the beginning was grandfather Gigi, who founded the company in 1937 together with his sons.
Today, Boris and David personally lead the agricultural company thanks to the example of their father Carlo and their tireless mother Ester.
Only beautiful and healthy grapes enter the cellar, and the natural flow of time in steel fermentations and wood maturation marks the rhythm of becoming: from cluster to must and finally to wine.
Località Plessiva, 5 bis, 34071 Cormons GO, Italia
The company was founded in 1870, in Plessiva, on the ridge of the Italian Collio. Gradimiro Gradnik, known to all as Miro of Plessiva, was among the first wine bottlers in Collio: easy to say today, but almost futuristic in the 1960s! Since then, the Gradnik winery has been committed to quality production while respecting the finest traditions of Collio.
The vineyards, entirely south-facing, have been gradually renewed and replanted with premium grape varieties. Now Miro’s daughter, Neda, continues his work with wise expertise.
The company boasts a rich farming tradition: for three generations, the Deganis family has been tending these vineyards in Brazzano, at the foot of Monte Quarin – now under the care of Giorgio, grandson of the founder Luigi.
Today, the vineyards cover 8 hectares, entirely within the D.O.C. Collio and Isonzo production areas, producing elegant and distinctive wines. The Zorzon company complements its vineyard work with hospitality, offering guest rooms for visitors to fully experience the region.
Polje is the brand created by brothers Luigi and Stefano Sutto when, at the beginning of the century, they had the opportunity to acquire a winery in Novali di Cormòns. In choosing the name, they were inspired by the sinkholes that characterize the area, known as polje, formed by the erosion of the Julian Prealps. In 2015, the Polje brand became part of the Sutto Wine group.
The history of the company, born from the passion of a Friulian farming family, is the story of love for the land that has continued for four generations.
Magnàs is the nickname that has always been attributed to this family, particularly to grandfather Giovanni. In the early 1970s, Luciano created a farm in Boatina, nestled in an enchanting garden. It’s the beginning of a constant evolution that in 1991 led his son Andrea to join Luciano, resulting in the first bottling.
Magnàs is synonymous with tradition, reliability, solidity, and the tree that stands out on its labels is the symbol of all these values.
The company was founded in the 1950s in the Faet area, at the foot of Mount Quarin, and today is entirely managed by Andrea Drius who, following in his grandparents’ footsteps, tends to this patch of land. The company philosophy is based on enhancing the product that the earth grants us, with the utmost respect for the environment. Manual work still plays a great role in maintaining vineyards with over half a century of life, and traditional cultivation techniques are combined with new principles of low environmental impact farming in order to obtain a healthy, high-quality product.
An ancient vocation for viticulture, practiced today with passion: for generations, the Drius family has been cultivating vines in the extreme northeastern edge of Italy, in the DOC Collio and DOC Isonzo areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Mauro Drius, his wife Nadia, and their children Denis, Erika, and Valentina: a united family that – without abandoning its centuries-old agricultural tradition and simultaneously looking towards a sustainable future – has made environmental respect and naturalness the cornerstone of its production philosophy.
The company, established in the late 1990s, is located in Cormons in the Pradis area, between the Collio DOC and Isonzo DOC regions. The vineyards and winery are managed with care and passion by Renzo Sgubin, together with his wife Michela and their sons Leonardo and Andrea, heirs to a farming tradition tied to this land for three generations. Currently, they produce eight different wines, six whites and two reds.
The company is established, produces, and harvests its fruits in the area of Brazzano, a small hamlet in the Municipality of Cormòns, and boasts an area of about 10 hectares, almost entirely cultivated with vineyards. The vineyards are partly located on hills and partly on plains, and certainly do not facilitate mechanized work: many interventions must be carried out using methods reminiscent of our fathers’ work, from which Gabriele and his father Francesco, still at work, continue to draw useful lessons, remaining faithful to a centuries-old tradition that has made Friulian wines great.
Località Pradis, Via Faet, 20, 34071 Cormons GO, Italia
Pradis is a corner of Cormòns immersed in greenery, ideal for rediscovering oneself and family values: here, among hills and vineyards, Maurizio Buzzinelli has been giving voice to his land for years through wines with refined, rich, intense flavors.
Stories of men and wines intertwine among the vineyard rows, between work in the fields and in the cellar. Each has its own story, making their wine even more special.
Arriving in Collio during harvest time, it seems as if an immense “divine rake” has combed the hills into perfectly ordered rows, lush and tended with such skill and love that it overflows!
You hear the clinking of glasses, see rainbows in the glasses, listen to the harvest stories, and smell the aroma of musts, pressings, or the golden and fruity wines that the Kurtin family has been producing from these hills since 1906!
Today, the company spans approximately 20 hectares, largely planted with vines, reaching a total production of about 60,000 bottles.
Two brothers, a father, a terroir: the vine and the territory are cornerstones for the Sturm family. The synergy between father Oscar and sons Patrick and Denis is a reference point for the entire Collio region, leading to the production of exceptional wines: elegant and refined whites, powerful and passionate reds… produced organically, always respecting nature and the traditions that have animated this strip of land along the border for centuries.
The company was founded in 1970 under the leadership of Franco Bastiani, and it is still with him today that Barbara, his daughter, lovingly and passionately tends to a small vineyard garden in the heart of the city center of Cormòns.
Unmistakable, unique wines that tell a story rooted in the land and have always remained true to the vine… harvest after harvest, glass after glass.
Salita del Monte Quarin, 22, 34071 Cormons GO, Italia
The estate is located in Cormòns, on the southern slope of Monte Quarin, and is situated at the end of the scenic road leading to the square of the Monte, at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level. A splendid noble residence, it was owned by the family of the philosopher Carlo Michelstaedter.
The company covers 4 hectares, today equally divided between vineyards (mostly planted with native grape varieties from 1938) and olive groves.
Via Spessa, 1, 34070 Capriva del Friuli GO, Italia
With a history spanning nearly eight centuries, the Castello di Spessa – in Capriva del Friuli – has hosted prestigious figures such as Giacomo Casanova and Lorenzo Da Ponte; in parallel, in Cormòns, following the great winemaking tradition of the region, you’ll find the Winery where the elegant wines of the Estate are born.
Today, the Estate comprises 70 hectares in the DOC Friuli Isonzo and 28 hectares in Collio… as well as a golf course, a spa, 3 restaurants, and a unique and unforgettable atmosphere!
Two friends and a love for a special place: Monte Quarin. Thus, in 2018, this new winemaking venture in Collio began, with a great team bringing the company to life: Miran, Salvador, Maria, and Diego.
We favor organic and sustainable viticulture, environmentally friendly, excluding the use of any chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides.
It was Bruno who started, an indefatigable man for whom the gravel of Cormons and the marl of Collio held no secrets. Then it was Mario’s turn, along with Marinella: in the early seventies, they knew how to innovate the company, especially in the field of winemaking, bottling for the first time at the end of that fortunate decade of change. Their son Stefano, together with his sister Rosanna, carries on their legacy under the perfect combination: tradition and innovation, in pursuit of an increasingly exclusive quality progression of vineyard and winery products.
It all began with Giuseppe Raccaro, who in 1928 decided to move from the Valli del Natisone to a farmhouse just steps away from the church of Santa Maria, located at the foot of Mount Quarin, the hill overlooking Cormòns. The turning point came in 1986, when his grandson Dario began bottling wine, deciding to fully dedicate himself to quality winemaking.
Today, it is still him, together with his wife Dalila and their two sons Paolo and Luca, who dedicates his heart and soul daily to his vineyards to create authentic wines that express the terroir and tell the story of a respectful approach to nature.
It was the year 1972 when Luigi Antonutti, one of the doyens of Friulian wine, enamored with the land and the fruits these hills offer, purchased several hectares in the heart of the Collio Goriziano, on the gentle slopes of the Subida area, creating a company that has become synonymous with elegance and typicity.
Today, under the guidance of the Scarpa family but always with the invaluable collaboration of Andrea Antonutti, Luigi’s son, Subida di Monte represents a benchmark in the regional wine landscape.
A consolidated passion for wine that has lasted in the family for six generations. Ever since Livio Felluga consecrated his love for the hills by restoring the first vineyards in Rosazzo, his wines so unmistakable in style and aromas are the wines of the Carta Geografica: an ancient map of the hilly area of Friuli, a sign of a deep connection with history and territory.
The Carta Geografica proudly represents the great white wines of Italy in over 80 countries, perpetuating the dream of that great man who was Livio Felluga.
